The CC Image Search is out of beta status with a complete redesign and easier attribution options.

CC Search is a tool that allows openly licensed and public domain works to be discovered and used by everyone. Creative Commons, the nonprofit behind CC Search, is the maker of the CC licenses, used over 1.4 billion times to help creators share knowledge and creativity online. -CC Image Search

Millions of Websites around the world make use of Public Domain Images because it is a set and forget approach. High Quality images are crucial to drive engagement from users on your website and social media. CC0 makes it easy to download images and use them without attribution, even for commercial use.

But, there are an array of other CC licenses, which as of now, is very difficult to extract information on different website and add the attribution to your own website.

The Image Search Engine by CC is a shot to simplify the process. To make a long story short, here are the improvements the new redesign features:

  • Easy-to-use Search
  • Filters: Filter by License Type, Filter by Providers
  • Easy copy paste of the license attribution (if needed)
  • Currently, CC is working with 19 providers
After having performed the keyword search, users have the option to use filtering options, you may also combine multiple licenses at the same time
The Filters in Detail: Users may filter by license types and/or by providers (19 till date)
After having selected the image you want, users are now enabled to easily copy paste the attribution

CC is working with the following providers:

  • Animal Diversity Web

  • Brooklyn Museum
  • Cleveland Museum of Art
  • DeviantArt
  • Digitalt Museum
  • Flickr
